The Medium Release Date: When is The Medium coming out on PS5?

The Medium, a psychological horror game from Bloober Team had its release earlier this year for PC and Xbox Series X | S platforms. This week, it’s finally coming to PlayStation. The Medium release date on PlayStation 5 is on Friday, September 3, 2021.

The Medium’s initial release was in January this year. It premiered with some success and currently stands at a 75 Metacritic score. Additionally, it also garnered two Gamescom nominations – one for best action-adventure and another for best indie game.

It is a third-person psychological horror game that puts players in the shoes of Marianne. She is a medium who has the ability to travel to the spirit realm. This traveling-between-worlds mechanic is an integral part of the game’s puzzles and combat. The game’s official website describes it with the following:

“Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Explore the real world and the spirit world at the same time. Use your psychic abilities to solve puzzles spanning both worlds, uncover deeply disturbing secrets, and survive encounters with The Maw – an entity born from an unspeakable tragedy.

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features an innovative dual-reality gameplay, unique art style inspired by painter Zdzisław Beksiński, and original soundtrack co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka.”

Additionally, The Medium release on PS5 comes with a few additional features. Most of these come courtesy of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller. In a special DualSense overview, the devs go over how the controller enhances the gameplay experience. The description reads:

“Feel, understand, react! See how the DualSense controller is an extension of your senses and how it supports you in traveling and exploring the dual realities of The Medium.”

Once again, The Medium release for PS5 is on September 3, 2021. In other release date news, farming-sim and action-RPG mashup Kitaria Fables is also releasing this week.
