Despite struggling for most of the year and seeing a first-round exit, Carmelo Anthony of the Oklahoma City Thunder is out having a good time this offseason. Basketball may not be running on his mind right now, but the haters sure might be.

Anthony posted a photo on Twitter, together with a message that's probably for his haters.

At the tailend of his career, Anthony has been the topic of fans and critics alike. They point out his lack of effort on defese, his lack of chemistry with the rest of his teammate, and the fact that he does not have a ring unlike most of his contemporaries.

Yet his rebuttal to his critics is this: three Olympic gold medals. He's the only male basketball player to have achieved such a feat.

Prior to winning his third Olympic medal, Melo said per Marc Stein of ESPN:

“Most athletes don't have an opportunity to say that they won a gold medal, better yet three gold medals,” Anthony said.. “I would be very happy walking away from the game knowing that I've given the game everything I have (and) knowing I played on a high level at every level: High school, college, won (a championship) in college (at Syracuse) and possibly three gold medals.

“I can look back on it when my career is over — if I don't have an NBA championship ring — and say I had a great career.”

Critics can continue nagging Anthony. But at this point in his career, he seems happy and content.
