Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George has been on a hot streak over the past four games, nailing at least five 3-pointers each time. As noted by The Oklahoman’s Brett Dawson, the five long-distance makes in four consecutive games is a franchise record and only two games shy of the league record.

Upon checking NBA.com, George shares the record streak with several players, most notably the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, the Los Angeles Lakers’ Isaiah Thomas, and the Houston Rockets’ James Harden and Eric Gordon. Interestingly, Curry (seven times) and Thompson (twice) achieved the feat multiple times.

George was scorching hot against the Warriors on February 6, nailing 6-of-11 shots from long distance on his way to a 38-point night in a 125-105 win. Two nights later, he made 5-of-12 3-point shots finishing with 29 points, but the Thunder fell to the Lakers 106-81.

Next up was the Memphis Grizzlies. George hit five 3-pointers again, shooting 5-of-10 from downtown for 15 of his game-high 33 points. Oklahoma City routed Memphis 110-92 despite missing starters Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony.

Finally, there’s the aforementioned Tuesday marquee matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers in which George kept his streak of five made treys in consecutive games. He was 5-of-13 from beyond the arc. Unfortunately, the Thunder lost 120-112.

If George wants to add another game under his belt with five or more threes, he will have the chance to do so immediately as they play on the road against the Grizzlies Wednesday night.

Should he accomplish the feat, he will be one of four players to do so, a list which includes Curry, who did it twice, Harden, and retired NBA player Dennis Scott.

The record of six is held by former NBA journeyman George McCloud who turned in the trick six times from February 25, 1996 to March 5, 1996.
