OKC Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook has logged in his 99th career-triple double in a win against the Sacramento Kings.

Per OKC Thunder beat writer Fred Katz:

According to Basketball Reference, Westbrook is fourth-all time in triple-doubles logged-in, right behind Jason Kidd (107), Magic Johnson (138), and Oscar Robertson (181). Being in the top four of the list is prestigious enough as the fifth all-time is Wilt Chamberlain, far behind with 78.

For the season, Westbrook is averaging 25.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 10.1 assists per contest. It is not too far from his historic averages last season, where he logged in a triple-double per game with 31.6 points, 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds.

His performance proved historic, as he became the latest player since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double. To recall, Robertson averaged 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists in 1966-1967, making him the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double.

Known for his tenacity and ruthlessness on the court, Westbrook has powered the Thunder to multiple playoff appearances over the last decade. He had a long partnership with Kevin Durant but was recently cut-off after the latter signed with the Warriors.

It seems that the falling-out of the two only fueled Westbrook's hunger for winning. He has been logging in career bests in most statistical categories ever since Durant left.

Now that he is playing alongside fellow superstars Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, there seem to be no signs of Westbrook slacking off. He still carries most of the burden despite having more support around him.
