The NBA 2K19 player ratings are out. Some are justified while others are overrated. Is Russell Westbrook deserving of a 93? Westbrook is a former MVP and the only player to average a triple-double in two consecutive seasons.

For comparison, James Harden got a 94, LeBron James a 97, Anthony Davis a 94 and Kevin Durant a 95. On the other hand, Westbrook's rating is better than Joel Embiid (92), Giannis Antetokounmpo (90) and Kawhi Leonard (92).

In the point guard spot, only Stephen Curry is ranked ahead of Brodie with 94, while Russ is tied with Kyrie Irving at 93. Chris Paul and John Wall rounded out the top five with 92 and 90 ratings, respectively.

Westbrook's all-around brilliance could easily crack the 95-plus rating group. However, flaws such as questionable decision-making, turnovers and average shooting hurt his ratings. The Thunder, despite his monster numbers, remain in the middle of the pack of a stacked Western Conference. If he can get OKC over the hump and reach at least the conference finals, then Westbrook's NBA 2K20 rating will probably be higher next year.

Some have accused Westbrook of padding his stats just to finish with a triple-double average, but if that is what it takes for OKC to get wins, then Westbrook surely would not mind going the extra mile.
