Danilo Gallinari of the Oklahoma City Thunder experienced some problems afoot against the Orlando Magic in his team’s Tuesday night win. Late in the fourth quarter, Gallo lost his right shoe on what he believed to be a foul.

However, the game does not stop for a lost shoe and after his teammate Chris Paul drilled a two-point jumper, Gallo had to hoof it down court and fight for a rebound with one hand – as he had his shoe in the other hand:

It was no harm, no foul for Gallo and the Thunder, as they won the game by a final score of 102 to 94. The Rooster (a favorite Gallo nickname of this writer’s) produced 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 26 minutes.

Over the course of his 10-year NBA career, the 31-year-old Gallinari has suffered myriad injuries, including a torn ACL and others, which have caused to play in 70 or more games only twice ever.

Last season, though he didn’t hit that threshold, he did play in 68 games and produced what was, most likely, his best-ever season. As a member of the LA Clippers last year, Gallinari was one of their best players. He notched a career-high 19.8 points per game on career-high efficiency (63.3 percent true shooting percentage) along with career-highs in rebounds (6.1 per game) and assists (2.6 per game).

Though the Clippers traded Gallo as part of the Paul George trade, the Italian native has picked up right where he left off for the Thunder, who have been a bit feistier than expected due to the growth of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the continued savvy veteran play of Gallinari and Chris Paul.
