Boris Diaw raised eyebrows yesterday after choosing to sign with Paris-Lavellois of his native France after playing 14 seasons in the NBA, but word is the dynamic power forward wasn't short of looks at the age 35. Diaw spent last season with fellow Frenchman Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz, in the most limited role of his career, playing only a whisker over 17 minutes per game throughout the season.

The big man was a mentor to younger players, but saw his role increase, surprising Gobert that no other team had offered him a job in the league.

According to ESPN 1500's Darren Wolfson, the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have been in search of valuable pieces to fill out their roster, has brief talks with the passing big man, but nothing came to fruition.

The Timberwolves still have three roster spots to fill after the signing of Shabazz Muhammad, reportedly looking into New Orleans Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham as a three-and-D prospect.

Minnesota is intent on adding quality value, according to head coach and president Tom Thibodeau, who has been laser-focused on acquiring assets that can contrast his starting lineup's woes.

Thibodeau will try to add as much shooting, passing, and defense as he can muster to keep the boat afloat when the starters hit the bench.
