Hampered by injuries for the majority of his career, many have placed their doubts against Derrick Rose. They say that his career is over and done with. But occasionally, Rose displays an image of his old athletic self.

In a video posted by the NBA, Rose effortlessly got up for a dunk in their game against the Houston Rockets:

It was a welcome sight indeed. Everyone who's been tuning in closely to NBA for the past decade is familiar with Rose's story. Rose, who won the Most Valuable Player in the 2010-211 season (the youngest at 23 years, 2 months), recently signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He reunited with Tom Thibodeau, his coach during his stint with the Chicago Bulls.

Rose is simply thankful for the opportunity, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:

“The only thing I'm missing now is the opportunity,” Rose told reporters in Minnesota on Thursday. “Talking to Thibs, he sounds like he's going to give me the opportunity, so it's all about learning the guys and fitting in at the right time.

Thibs, for his part, acknowledged the former MVP and his capabilities. It is evident that Rose is not the same player as he was when they were with the Bulls. But Thibs knows what Rose can bring to the table:

“We just thought he could help the team,” Thibodeau said. “That's what our expectations are: come in, be a good teammate, try to help us win. … He's been around. He's been in a lot of games. I think he's seen a lot of different things, he's familiar with what we're doing, he's played with some of the guys we have. So that's a plus.”
