Will Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill be better than ever this season?

If you listen to Jonnu Smith the answer is yes.

Speaking with Terry McCormick, Smith mentioned how well Tannehill has been during offseason workouts.

“Ryan was great in our workouts in Florida,” Smith said. “Best I’ve ever seen him.”

That is high praise for the eighth-year quarterback, who is heading into his second year in Tennessee. Tannehill helped the Titans reach the playoffs last year, getting the starting role in the middle of the season after an ineffective beginning of the season by Marcus Mariota. After a 2-4 start under Mariota, Tannehill would lead the Titans to a 7-3 record through the games he started. He would then lead the Titans all the way to the AFC Championship Game before losing to eventual Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs.

Tannehill had an up and down career in Miami with the Dolphins before moving to Tennessee. His strong performance with the Titans last season shows that the veteran still has something to prove in the NFL and is looking to lead the Titans to greatness.

His workouts have apparently shown that he is working hard to have an even better season in his second year in Nashville, this time with the keys to the offense squarely in his hands. This is a promising sign for Titans fans, who are looking for the franchise to break through and make the Super Bowl for the first time since 1999, in which they lost to the St Louis Rams.
