It has been a rough start to the season for Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, who worked through an elbow injury in the season opener that impacted his availability over the last two games.

However, it appears Mariota is finally past his injury. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said Mariota is expected to return to the field as the starter against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Mariota played in last week's 9-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars after Blaine Gabbert suffered a concussion in the first quarter. He played just well enough to help his team edge out the Jaguars by completing 12-of-18 passes for 100 yards while orchestrating three scoring drives that ended in field goals.

The decision to make this announcement early in the early week signals that Mariota has made enough promising progress toward being able to take the field as the starter. He will likely don a glove on his hand once again for precautionary reasons.

Aside from the injury, Mariota has struggled to show a lot of positive progress in his development as a quarterback as he has had issues showing he can lead the team with his arm. Instead, this has put more pressure on the running game to step up with their dynamic duo of Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis leading the way.

In the meantime, the Titans will need Mariota to pick up his play against the defending Super Bowl champions in order to keep their strong start to the season heading in the right direction.

As it stands, Tennessee is a 4-point underdog at home against Philadelphia, according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
