In an update Tweet by TSM FTX, they announced that their support Wei “Shenyi” Zi-Jie will be stepping down to their Academy roster, and Wang “Yursan” Sheng-Yu will take his place as a starting support in the next League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) games.

The Tweet reads:

Player comfort and adaptation are core values at TSM. With this in mind, we have decided to substitute Yursan with Shenyi for the upcoming LCS Academy games.

As a recent arrival, Shenyi requires more time to adjust to NA. He will benefit from thie Academy league's environment, whilst accumulating more game time at a more comfortable pace.

On the surface, this sounds like a regular player substitution, but it seems there's a lot going on behind the scenes. In a call by Shenyi with his former teammate Luo “jiang” Bai-Jiang, he talks about the inner workings at TSM.

Shenyi made comments about communication not working well in-game, as only him and mid laner Zhu “Keaiduo” Xiong speaks Mandarin on the team. Korean doesn't work too well either, Shenyi says, as he only knows very basic Korean words for in-game purposes.

“What do you think of my shot calling?” Shenyi asked jiang. To which jiang replied “I think your shot calling is good… I think shot calling is your strength.” Shenyi then proceeds to talk about him telling the rest of the TSM squad about his strength in shot calling. “I never thought that one day someone would regard my shot calling and ward positioning as trash,” he said.

TSM is currently winless in LCS Spring 2022, sitting at the bottom of the standings at 0-4. For more League of Legends, click here.
