Two days before the draft, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets surprised many by completing a trade that's believed to be done out of necessity to dump some salaries. However, with the players involved, it was difficult not to put a lot of attention to it.

The Lakers agreed to part ways with former number two overall pick D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov in exchange for Brook Lopez and this year's 27th pick. The deal caught a lot of people by surprise and they took to Twitter to give their reactions, which were both hilarious and highly entertaining.

Some were left shocked and thought it was smart move for both teams, to save some money and have more cap flexibility moving forward.

Some Lakers fans though were not happy to hear about it, especially with the promising season Russell just had, where he was able to showcase his vastly improved and more mature game.

However, there are also some who feel that it was a good trade for the Lakers, who feel that they don't need the 21-year-old anymore.

By dealing Russell, it also meant that Lonzo Ball may be a lock for the Lakers now, as he will become their point guard of the future. Twitter knew how happy LaVar Ball is now.

It remains to be seen what other moves both teams will be making in the coming days, and on draft night. There may be more deals to be made, which has the potential to shake up a team, or even the league. If what transpired on Tuesday is any indication of what's in store, it will be a very interesting build up leading to the draft, and free agency as well.
