The USC basketball team did not have a good season after having sky-high expectations coming into the year. They finished near the bottom of the Pac-12 standings, and they failed to make the NCAA Tournament. After bringing in the top recruiting class in the country, the season was a major disappointment. Head coach Andy Enfield is no longer with USC, and with that, players started to enter the transfer portal. One of those players is Kobe Johnson, and he is headed to crosstown rival UCLA basketball.

This is a huge get for UCLA basketball, especially right after snagging Skyy Clark in the transfer portal from Louisville. The Bruins also just had a disappointing season, and they are looking for a bounce back next year. The offseason is off to a good start.

“NEWS: Kobe Johnson, the No. 6 overall transfer in the portal, is transferring from USC to UCLA, he announced,” Travis Branham said in a tweet. “Big get for Mick Cronin getting an impact defender and an offensively versatile wing.”

Today has been a good day for UCLA. Mick Cronin knows that the season that the Bruins just had isn't acceptable, and he is working hard to get his roster ready for the next season.

Last season, UCLA finished the season with a 16-17 overall record and they finished 10-10 in conference play. The Bruins did not make the NCAA Tournament, and it will be crucial for them to make it next season.

Next season is going to be big for the Bruins because of their new conference. They will no longer be in the Pac-12 and they will be joining USC, Oregon and Washington in the Big 10. The Big 10 has been a better conference than the Pac-12 recently, and it will be an adjustment for sure.

UCLA basketball is having a good stretch of transfer portal additions. They also just added Skyy Clark from Louisville, and that is another great addition. The Bruins are doing a good job of getting their roster ready for next season.

Skyy Clark averaged over 13 PPG this past season, and Kobe Johnson averaged nearly 11. He finished the year averaging 10.9 PPG, 4.6 RPG and 3.3 APG. He had a great season, and he will be a good addition to this UCLA team.

One of the biggest things to note about this transfer move is that USC and UCLA are rivals. It's going to be exciting to see Johnson go up against his former team.
