Tuesday night, the UConn Huskies hosted the Villanova Wildcats in a battle of Big East rivals. Late in the first half, Huskies head coach Danny Hurley received a technical. He then turned to the crowd to pump them up. Apparently the referees took that as a shot at them. They immediately gave him a second technical and ejected him from the game.

Hurley appeared to complain about a non-call on his player, which prompted the initial technical foul. Hurley was clearly not happy with it, as he was seen screaming. His players calmed him down and he decided to have fun with it, turning to the crowd. Referee James Breeding clearly thought Hurley was showing him up.

Despite having their coach tossed from the game, UConn would go on to win 71-69 in thrilling fashion. Villanova led by four points with only 31 seconds left. But Wildcats' Caleb Daniels missed the front end of a one-and-one.

Tyler Polley sank a three, cutting the deficit to 69-68 with 21 seconds remaining. Collin Gillespie uncharacteristically turned the ball over a few seconds later, setting the stage for the game-winner. R.J. Cole hit a layup with five seconds left, proving to be the difference.

With the win, UConn improved to 11-5 in the Big East and 20-7 overall. Meanwhile, Villanova fell to 14-4 and 21-7 respectively. ESPN's Joe Lunardi has both teams as a threat in March Madness, with ‘Nova as a #3 seed and UConn as a #5 seed.
