It is the final week of the UFL season, as two teams eliminated from the playoffs face off with the Arlington Renegades and the DC Defenders. It is time to continue our UFL odds series with a Renegades-Defenders prediction and pick.

The Renegades are currently the worst team in the XFL conference. They are 2-7 on the year, sitting in last in the conference. The Renegades are coming off a win though, beating the BAttlehawks by 14 last week. The Defenders are 4-5 on the year and looking to get to .500 on the season. They are also coming off a win, as thye took out the Showboats by 15 last week. This will be the second meeting of the year between the two, as the Defenders won 29-28 the first time back in week three of the year.

Why The Renegades Can Cover/Win

The Renegades are second in the UFL in yards this year, sitting fifth in rushing and first in passing yards this year. Still, they are third in the UFL in points per game.  Luis Perez leads the way. He has passed for 2094 yards this year and 15 scores. He also has just two interceptions on the year. Still, Perez has been sacked 13 times this year and does not move great, with just six rushing yards on the year. Perez is still one of the top passers in the UFL, in the top three in yards and passing touchdowns.

De'Veon Smith leads the rushing attack. He has 357 yards on the year with three touchdowns. Right behind him is Leddie Brown, who has 124 yards, but not found the end zone. Lindsey Scott has been the short yards back, having just 72 yards, but scoring twice. JP Payton has been solid in the receiving game. He has brought in 23 receptions for 379 yards and five scores.  Tyler Vaughn also has 419 yards this year and a score. Further, both Sal Cannella and Deontay Burnett have over 200 yards and a score. Cannella has scored six times on the season and now leads the team in receiving with 445 yards this year.

The Renegades are seventh in yards against per game this year. They are seventh against the run and seventh against the pass. The Renegades are also sixth in points allowed per game this year.  Jalen Redmond has been solid this year. He has five tackles for a loss while also having 4.5 sacks. Steven Jones Jr has been solid in coverage. He has six pass breakups and two interceptions. Ajene Harris also has an interception with six pass breakups, while recovering a fumble.

Why The Defenders Can Cover/Win

The Defenders are sixth in points per game this year. They are sixth in yards per game while sitting fifth in the run and fifth in the past. Jordan Ta'amu leads the offense this year. He has 1627 yards passing and 13 scores. Still, he has thrown nine interceptions.  He has also run for 194 yards on the ground and a score.

Cam'Ron Harris leads the rushing attack. He has 221 yards on the ground with three touchdowns. In the receiving game, it is Kelvin Harmon. He has 375 yards this year with three scores. He did miss the last game though and could miss this one as well. Ty Scott has scored three times as well but has just 20 receptions for 383 yards. with Harmon out, Scott has become the top receiver. Chris Rowland has 235 yards as well, with three touchdowns the season. He is third on the team in receiving. Alex Ellis is fourth on the team in receiving with just 211 yards and two scored.

The Defenders are seventh in points allowed this year while sitting second in passing yards allowed and sixth in total yards allowed. They are also eight against the run. On defense, Michael Joseph has been solid. He has six pass breakups this year and a forced fumble. He also has five tackles for a loss. Meanwhile, Malik Fisher has six tackles for a loss and six sacks on the year.

Final Renegades-Defenders Prediction & Pick

The DC Defenders are the best team that did not make the playoffs this year. They have continued to improve and have the better offense in this one. While both teams do not have anything to play for, expect the Defenders to put on a show in front of their home crowd. With that, take them in this one.
