News on the Dota 2 website confirms that The International 10 will be coming this 2021. Valve has announced the date and venue for The International 10.

The International Championships is considered to be the biggest competitive stage for Dota 2. It is an annual competition that features a series of tournaments, called the Dota Pro Circuit, before the event itself. The top 12 teams in rankings will receive a direct invitation to The International. An additional team from the regions CIS, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, China, South America will each earn an invite by winning the regional playoffs. This brings the total number of teams that will fight for the coveted Aegis up to 18.

Unfortunately last year, The International 10 was canceled because of the pandemic. However, The International 10 will be held this year in August in Stockholm, Sweden. The group stages will mark the start of the competition. The first day for the group stages will be on August 5 and will last until August 8. The main event will start on August 10 and continues until August 15, the last day where the best teams compete in the finals.

The International 10 this year boasts a whopping $40,018,195 prize pool. This surpasses the prize pool for the previous International, which had a prize pool of $34,330,068. This makes it the competition with the largest prize pool in the history of esports.

As The International 10 approaches, Dota 2‘s recent update adds content related to the competition as well as upcoming game events.
