The Toronto Raptors lost to the Boston Celtics Friday night in overtime and Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry got kneed in the face by Celtics second-year small forward Jayson Tatum.

Lowry is from Philadelphia and sort of built like a running back. However, no strength or muscle can prepare you to get hit in the face.

The Celtics won in overtime by a final score of 123-116. Boston is now 9-6 on the season, while the Raptors fall to 12-4.

Kyle Lowry got kneed in the face during the third quarter. The All-Star point guard stayed in, though, and finished with 14 points. He only shot 3-of-12 from the field and 1-of-6 from beyond the arc. Maybe his head was still ringing from the hit.

Jayson Tatum scored 21 points for the Celtics while shooting an efficient 8-of-13 from the floor, 2-of-4 from the 3-point line and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Tatum also grabbed seven rebounds.

The Celtics are 5-1 at home, but have struggled on the road in this young season. But then, there's still a lot of basketball games left to be played. The Raptors still have the best record in the Eastern Conference, but they have now lost three games in a row.
