Joshua Dobbs had an incredible start with the Minnesota Vikings after he was traded by the Arizona Cardinals at the deadline.

Things came to a crashing halt on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears, however:

The Vikings cautiously chose to hold star wide receiver Justin Jefferson out for another game with his hamstring injury. As a result, they were virtually nonexistent on offense with only a field goal by Greg Joseph at the end of the first half to show for the first 54 minutes. Dobbs threw the go-ahead score to T.J. Hockenson with 5:54 left, but the Vikings stalled out again after that.

Dobbs finished with 185 passing yards for one touchdown and four interceptions. Now Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has a plan for Dobbs as the team heads into their bye-week, according to Kevin Siefert of ESPN:

Kevin O'Connell on Josh Dobbs post-bye: “We're going to take a look and really evaluate the inventory of plays now we have of Josh. We got healthy. We got Jaren [Hall] back available to us and then Nick Mullens is available as well.”

The Vikings coach continued on Dobbs, “Look, I think what Josh Dobbs has really done coming in here on short notice and really going 2-2 in a stretch where a lot of people might have thought, Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson being out, the deck is stacked against us. That's not the way this team thinks.”

Up next for the Vikings: The bye week is next, followed by a visit to Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
