Most signs are pointing in the direction of Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen playing this coming Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at home.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Griffen has practiced for three straight days this week. In addition, Pelissero noted that the veteran has already been removed by the team from the injury report, an encouraging sign with regards to his availability in the Saints game.

It could be remembered that Everson Griffen spent multiple weeks away from his team and football activities earlier this season to deal with a mental health issue following a bizarre series of incidents which included him reportedly threatening to shoot someone at a hotel and leaping out of an ambulance.

Griffen has already apologized for his actions and has taken full responsibility for them.

The 30-year-old Griffen has appeared in only two games this season. He has recorded four tackles and a sack in those contests, and he’s looking to get back to work and contribute to the Vikings’ defense that has been on a roll of late.

The Vikings are on a three-game win streak and are coming off a decisive 37-17 road win over the New York Jets in Week 7. The Saints are a vastly different and more dangerous animal than the Jets, though, so a 100 percent and ready-to-play Griffen will be very useful for Minnesota’s defense that is 14th in the league with 23.6 points allowed per game.
