The Minnesota Vikings opted for a full rebuild after they announced the Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer firings this past week. The firings of Zimmer and Spielman also brought quarterback Kirk Cousins' future with the franchise into question. In an appearance on Barstool Sports' The Pro Football Show, former NFL star Deion Sanders was asked about the Vikings' firing of Zimmer and made some interesting comments about Cousins along the way.

“When you look back on this, guys, just look at the commonality of the guys that have gotten fired,” said Sanders, when giving his thoughts on Zimmer. “Look at all of the guys that got fired and then look to the quarterback play. And there’s a common thread to each and every durn one of them.”

Deion Sanders seemed to be speaking about firings around the league in general, though it's interesting that he should make such a comment immediately following a question about former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer's firing. Sounds an awful lot like shade aimed at Kirk Cousins!

Cousins had one of the best statistical seasons of his career, exceeding 4000 passing yards while tossing 33 touchdowns against just seven interceptions.

The Vikings' offense ranked in the top-15 in the league in points per game, seemingly a solid unit with Cousins under center, though it was ironically the defense, led by Zimmer, that ultimately let the team down.

Deion Sanders has a point in that Kirk Cousins' play at times probably didn't help Mike Zimmer's cause, though the Vikings have more problems than just the quarterback spot.
