Jackson State recently made waves when they were able to recruit top cornerback Travis Hunter to join the Tigers program. Hunter spurned top programs such as Florida State, Georgia, and Auburn to join Deion Sanders at Jackson State. The way that Sanders seemingly swiped Hunter right from under the other top programs prompted some to allege that the former NFL legend paid the top recruit under the table. Sanders fired back at those allegations via TMZ Sports.

How's that for a vehement denial? Not only does Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders deny paying Travis Hunter under the table, but he also denies that the program even has the money necessary to do something like that.

That's a hilarious answer from Sanders on the Hunter allegations- and it sounds like it's the truth. Sanders himself certainly has the funds necessary to pull something like this off but Jackson State doesn't have the financial might of a Florida State or an Auburn.

Sanders went on to make an interesting point. The Jackson State leader said that he basically kicked the other program's butts by recruiting Hunter, the top-ranked cornerback recruit in the nation. Sanders said that the other programs have to come up with “an excuse why.”

Perhaps the funniest part of all of this is the last quote that Sanders said. The Jackson State head coach said that he wouldn't even pay his son that amount of money, so why would he coach someone making more than him.

And that's all that Deion Sanders had to say about the Tigers landing Travis Hunter.
