Minnesota Vikings defensive end and team captain Everson Griffen helped lead the NFC North franchise to a dominant victory over the typically dangerous Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium. However, Griffin isn't ready to get too excited over the 28-12 win over the Falcons from Week 1 as there is a ton of season left to be played — especially for a Vikings team that failed to reach the playoffs in 2018.

“Don’t take the cheese,” Griffen told NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk Sunday afternoon's win over the Falcons. “There’s a long way to go. This is just the beginning.”

Nonetheless, Griffin and company did care of business on Sunday in Minnesota as the Falcons didn't stand a chance on either side of the football. With the Vikings dominating every facet of the game, the score was not even close to being indicative of how the outing played out over the course of four quarters. It is also worth noting that all 12 of Atlanta's points came in the fourth quarter during garbage time.

Although it is never a bad thing to start a season off at 1-0, the Vikings will have to fend off some really dangerous teams in the NFC North this season. With the Chicago Bears reaching the playoffs by way of a divisional crown just a season ago, the Green Bay Packers appear to be incredibly dangerous this time around as well. The Packers infamously defeated the Bears, 10-3, on Thursday evening to kick off the 2019 regular season with the Detroit Lions tying the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
