Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph thinks it's a good thing they are playing on a short week. The Vikings played on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints and now will travel out to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Saturday. Some players might want the extra day of rest, but Rudolph thinks it will help the team mentally prepare.

“Being on a short week forces you to mentally put it aside,” Rudolph said, via Mark Craig of the Star Tribune.

The Vikings are coming off an emotional win over the Saints, and the Vikings don't want what happened last time they had an emotional win in the playoffs. After the Minneapolis Miracle, the Vikings thought they had an easy path to a Super Bowl victory. Instead, they went to Philadelphia and were blown out in the NFC Championship Game.

“We were all there two years ago when we had the greatest win ever and thought we were destined to win the Super Bowl [when] it was in our stadium, and we laid an egg,” Rudolph said. “We’re certainly glad we’re still playing, but we need to go out and play well in San Francisco or it’s going to be over just like that.”

For the Vikings to win this game and make it back to the NFC Championship Game, it's going to take quite the effort from everyone on offense. Stefon Diggs is dealing with an illness, and Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury during practice. Hopefully, both guys will be healthy and ready to go on Saturday.
