After taking fans on a trip down memory lane through its sitcom-inspired reality in its earlier episodes, WandaVision’s finale will likely feature an exciting battle that more closely resembles films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show’s finale will not only wrap up the story of Scarlet Witch and the “hex” reality on the town of Westview but will also set up the rest of Marvel’s Phase 4 films and television shows that will be streamed on Disney+.

That might be a lot to pack into a single episode with less than an hour of runtime, but the finale should at least answer some of the lingering questions after Episode 8’s stunning revelations about Wanda’s backstory. With several loose ends still untied heading into the finale, fans have naturally formulated their own theories about what would happen next, both in the show and in the MCU after the series ends.

Some theories have already proven to be true, like Wanda and Vision’s helpful neighbor Agnes turning out to be the powerful witch Agatha Harkness or SWORD agent Monica Rambeau ending up having superpowers. Here are three more theories about the WandaVision finale that could also come true.

1. Agent Woo’s witness plays a crucial role in the finale

The first person who informs agent Rambeau about Wanda’s “hex” reality in Westview is FBI agent Jimmy Woo. Woo is investigating the disappearance of a male who is under the Witness Protection Program, which is how he first came to the New Jersey town and discovered the “hex.”

When the hex turned out to be an entire fake reality that Wanda conjured out of grief, Woo’s search for the missing person gets sidelined in favor of more pressing matters like the fate of the world. But as the series heads to a climactic battle between Wanda, Agatha, and SWORD Director Hayward, this missing person could re-emerge and play a crucial role in deciding the fate of the town of Westview.

There is a lot of speculation about the identity of the witness, from the demonic villain Mephisto (the subject of myriad fan theories) to Ralph, the husband Agatha always mentioned. Will this witness also be a superpowered being like Agatha? And whose side will it be on? The only certainty at this point is that it’s unlike Marvel to leave a clue like the identity of Woo’s witness hanging for most of the series and leave it unresolved.

2. A Doctor Strange cameo

Marvel has a lot of projects lined up after WandaVision, including the next Doctor Strange installment, which will be released in March 2022. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has already revealed that WandaVision will tie into that film and that Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda, will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the film.

The series is already full of cameos, from Evan Peters’ Pietro from the X-Men films to Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis from the Thor films. But it wouldn’t be surprising if the show is saving its best cameo for last, and among all the Avengers, Doctor Strange seems the most likely to pop up in Westview, given that Wanda has the power to change reality and the Doctor usually deals with matters of magic and alternate realities.

3. Vision makes another sacrifice

From being the voice of Jarvis in the Iron Man films, Paul Bettany’s role in the MCU has gradually expanded. Now, Bettany not only plays the Vision in Westview that Wanda created through magic, but now also plays a White Vision revived by SWORD from the remains of the Vision destroyed by Thanos.

The series’ climactic battle will likely feature Wanda, Vision, her children Billy and Tommy, and Monica teaming up to try to defeat Agatha, White Vision, and SWORD in what should be a thrilling showdown. But which version of Vision, if any, will survive the battle? As revealed in Episode 8, Wanda has dealt with the loss for most of her life, from the death of her parents to the death of Pietro and the death of Vision.

By creating the “hex” in Westview, Wanda dealt with her grief by bringing Vision back to life and removing the cause of her grief. For her character to fully move past the loss of her love, the fake reality she created needs to be destroyed, which could mean the end of her version of Vision.

Vision already made a sacrifice when he asked Wanda to destroy the Mind Stone in Avengers: Infinity War, and another sacrifice to save the people of Westview would be true to his noble and unselfish nature. But that won't necessarily mean the end of their love story, because with Wanda possessing chaos magic and another version of Vision still around, anything is possible.
