To Golden State Warriors fan Ronnie Reyes, his infamous signed toaster is the sole reason his team has gone “undefeated” throughout the past 13 games, and a red-hot 27-1 since he had it autographed by shooting guard Klay Thompson.
Prior to Game 1's victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, the Warriors had gone 27-1 between the regular season and the postseason, the only loss coming against the Utah Jazz in the penultimate game of the 2016-17 campaign, the only one in which Thompson did not play.
“This toaster right here, this toaster is responsible for the last 28 games,” Reyes told Laura Anthony of ABC 7 San Francisco. “Ever since then, we've been undefeated.”
Prior to getting Thompson's John Hancock in the unlikely appliance, the Warriors' sharpshooter recognized two signatures already in the toaster — Draymond Green‘s and David Lee‘s.

“That's really cool, it's the first time I've seen this,” Thompson said, as recalled by Reyes.

That's @KlayThompson signing a toaster back in March. The @warriors have been 27-1 since, only loss when Klay didn't play. #DubsOn7 #lucky pic.twitter.com/9ECy2PkD0I

He's since added the signature of Warriors' former player and broadcaster Jim Barnett.
The fandom has gone so far, that Reyes doesn't even use the toaster for its intended purpose.
“It just burns the logo onto the bread, it doesn't really toast it that well,” he said.
Whether the Warriors have been toasty-lucky or just flat out stacked through this postseason, it's sure thing that Reyes will keep his eyes on that toaster at all costs, given how it's been his lucky charm since getting the penmanship of the Warriors' sniper back in March.
