The Golden State Warriors have been without their signature defensive hound Andre Iguodala since Game 4 of the series, and will be without him once again for a pivotal Game 7 against the Houston Rockets, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Head coach Steve Kerr had expressed just how important he is to his core group, but noted he is still not ready to be a go for the final game of this series.

“It’s gone on this long and he’s had a lot of pain,” said Kerr on Saturday at the team hotel, according to Mark Medina of the San Jose Mercury News. “We’ll just keep taking it day-by-day. But he’s doing everything he can to get out on the floor. He’s getting treatment several times a day. He’s doing all the right things. It just hasn’t responded yet. Hopefully that’s over soon.”

Iguodala collided with Houston Rockets star shooting guard James Harden, knocking knees in the process at the end of a rousing Warriors' 41-point Game 3 win at Oracle Arena.

Though the Warriors had listed him as day-to-day, Kerr said Iguodala hasn't felt comfortable enough to rejoin the rotation.

“It’ s a bone bruise,” Kerr said. “Bone bruises are not easily diagnosed in terms of when you know you’re going to come back from them. If Andre can play, he’ll play.”

Iguodala held Harden and running mate Chris Paul to 1-of-41 from the field as the primary defender, proving to be a stonewall answer to the Rockets' iso-heavy barrage throughout the series.

Kerr will now have to make due with the likes of Nick Young; a much-improved defender, patrolling the perimeter in his place, with Iggy still not ready to make an appearance tonight at the Toyota Center.
