Recently signed center Andrew Bogut will likely have to wait until next week to make his awaited debut for the Golden State Warriors, according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. Realistically speaking, the soonest potential date for his incorporation into the fold would be on Thursday, Mar. 21 against the Indiana Pacers.

Bogut, who signed with the team on Mar. 6, is still working out the logistic aspects of a United States work visa after playing out a full season in his native land of Australia, where he earned MVP honors.

The 7-footer spoke with immigration officials at a U.S. Consulate in Sydney on Tuesday in hopes of receiving a work visa directly instead of traveling to Vancouver. Bogut then gave his passport to immigration officials so they could attach a work visa, which he expects to receive by the weekend, at which point he'll travel to the Bay Area.

Logistically, a flight from Australia to the Bay would take roughly 15 hours, which would likely see him miss most of the games during the current road trip, which starts Wednesday at Houston, then goes through Oklahoma City on Saturday, San Antonio on Monday and Minnesota on Tuesday. The 33-year-old was hoping to join the team during the current road trip, but the possibilities look rather slim due to the nature of the paperwork.

It's unclear if the Warriors prefer for Bogut to have a practice under his belt before playing in a game, but he plans to work out at the team's facility regardless of the plan at hand.
