It wasn't too long ago when the haters were saying that Andrew Wiggins was a bust. Those days are now officially over after the All-Star forward helped the Golden State Warriors win a title on Thursday night. After erasing all doubt as to his status in the league, Wiggins had a special message for all his naysayers.

Following their Game 6 victory in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, Wiggins admitted that he's been motivated by the negativity that's surrounded him since his days with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Right now, though, the Warriors star knows that he's done enough to silence the critics — for the time being at least:

“I just wanted to prove everyone wrong and now I’m a world champion,” Wiggins said (h/t Kikue Higuchi of the San Francisco Chronicle). “Everyone’s going to have something to say regardless, but whatever they say they got to say I’m a world champion too.”

It's not as if Wiggins got a free ride to a chip, too. The former first overall pick was integral for the Warriors throughout their title run. He stepped up even more in the NBA Finals, and right now, there's absolutely no doubt that he deserves to be an NBA champ.
