San Francisco, CA – Minutes after the Golden State Warriors gave an update on the status of Stephen Curry, head coach Steve Kerr informed the media of what he would like to see from his superstar before he returns.
“We're not going to play him without getting a scrimmage,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.
The Warriors' first game of the playoffs is on Saturday against the Denver Nuggets. That gives Curry three full days to prove to the training staff he's healthy enough to play. The team has plans to scrimmage on Thursday, and hopefully, Curry is participating.
Steve Kerr on when they will make a decision on Stephen Curry playing game 1:
“I think each day will determine where he is and what he can do the following day. At the end of the week, we'll determine whether he's ready or not. So it's hard to hard to predict much.”

“I think each day will determine where he is and what he can do the following day,” Kerr started. “At the end of the week, we'll determine whether he's ready or not. So it's hard, too hard to predict much.”

This season Curry led the NBA in three-pointers made, although he shot under 40 percent from deep, and missed 18 games. It was the worst shooting season of his career, but he still was among the best of the best in the league.

Curry averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per night for the Warriors. He became the all-time leader in three-pointers made and led his team to one of the best records in the NBA.
If the Warriors can get their star back on the court for Game 1, it will be a huge boost in morale for the team. It will also be the first time Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala share the floor in a playoff game since 2019.
