Warriors star Kevin Durant reacts to Mavs rookie Luka Doncic’s All-Star bid
Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant gave his take on the possibility of having Dallas Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in February.
Durant believes that there are a lot of deserving players in the league today. The two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player then added that Doncic’s poise for the game is laudable for a rookie, but he is not too surprised with it.
“He’s big and strong, can pass, can play in the pick-and-roll,” Durant said of Doncic via Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “He played in Europe last season. The rest of the rookie class played in college. So he’s in the second-best league in the world learning how to play the game.”

Luka Doncic is currently turning heads with his performance in the first half of his rookie season. The 19-year-old is averaging 20.2 points on top of 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. The Slovenia native has also been making big plays for the Mavs in their recent games.
With his performance, Doncic is getting a lot of attention, as he is currently on pace to finish second in the All-Star fan voting in the Western Conference. Based on the second returns of the All-Star voting, Doncic already has 2,220,077 votes and is only behind Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.
Doncic is currently ahead of other well-known forwards and centers like Kevin Durant, Paul George, Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins. Overall, he has third-highest number of votes behind James, and Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
