Professional athletes don't want their fans to worry.
Golden State Warriors superstar small forward Kevin Durant is the latest star athlete to invoke the Aaron Rodgers strategy, urging everyone to relax when it comes to the injury plague seemingly possessing the Warriors of late.
Here is what Durant had to say, via ESPN:
“Everyone just needs to relax with all this s—,” Durant told ESPN on Friday night, after Curry left the Warriors' game against the Atlanta Hawks with a knee injury. “We'll be fine.”
It's no surprise KD is confident regarding this but even he must admit that these injuries are coming hard and fast.
Just last Friday night, in Stephen Curry's first game back from his ankle injury, he suffered an MCL sprain that some initially believed could be a setback that could last a month. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Durant himself have all suffered injuries and missed time during the second half of the season.
All of this has most notably led to the Houston Rockets shooting up to and staying in pole position in the Western Conference standings. Of course, the Warriors will downplay the importance of homecourt, as any defending champ is known to do, but it's not a totally insignificant factor by any means.
It will be interesting to see how the Warriors limp down the stretch of this season and how healthy they can get come playoff time.
