Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson had a huge game Friday night. The wingman scored a game-high 37 points and knocked down 9 threes in a losing effort. After the game, Thompson told reporters something told him he was going to have a monster night.

“There's such a vivid memory for me last year when I was here,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “I was rehabbing, and I was in the hallway, and the team was going through a similar type of slump…It just felt like such a deja vu, and it made me so appreciative of being here, being healthy, and being able to play and seeing all the warrior fans. I felt really good pregame, and it was just the strangest feeling of deja vu.”

Although Thompson arguably had the best game of his season, the Warriors lost the game. The final score was 121-110. It was their fourth loss in five games, but it was a big step in the right direction for Thompson.

He was one point shy of his season-high, and this could be the beginning of a streak of good games that can carry into the postseason.

With Stephen Curry out with a foot injury, the team will need Thompson and others to take their games to another level. They are losing too many games they should be winning.

It didn't happen Friday night, but if Thompson continues to play this way, wins are sure to follow. Elevated play from him could buy the Warriors enough time to get healthy and make a run in the playoffs.
