Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson reportedly suffered a serious right leg injury on Wednesday while he was working out in California.
Upon seeing the news on Twitter, NBA players reacted to it and sent their good wishes for Thompson, one of the most popular players in the league. LeBron James, Draymond Green and Paul George are among the first players to react to the news:
Klay Thompson missed the entire 2019-20 season for the Warriors. He was recovering from the left ACL tear he suffered in Game 6 of the 2019 Finals against the Toronto Raptors, which was the final game played at Oracle Arena.
The NBA community is hoping that Thompson's injury isn't serious. There are some conflicting reports going around right now, so it's better for fans to wait for the Warriors' update on Thompson's status.
The Warriors drafted Thompson with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Washington State. He's a three-time champion, five-time All-Star and one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.
Thompson has career averages of 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Warriors while shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from beyond the arc and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March due to COVID-19, the Dubs had the worst record in the NBA. Golden State has the second overall pick in the 2020 draft. Their draft plans could change in the wake of the Thompson injury.
