With four games remaining in the NBA regular season, the Oklahoma City Thunder currently have the seventh spot in the West. They haven't sealed that No. 7 spot yet, though, which means they could still face the Golden State Warriors — currently in first place — in the opening round of the playoffs. Though some say that the Thunder should target a matchup with the Denver Nuggets, Paul George says that the Thunder won't worry about a possible series with the defending champions.

Speaking with Sekou Smith on the Hang Time Podcast, Paul George implied that he doesn't care if the Thunder face either the Nuggets or the Warriors. Though the Thunder are in the bottom rung of West playoff teams, George is well aware of the difference between the playoffs and the regular season.

Paul George spoke with the clarity of a man who knows that at some point, the road to the NBA title goes through Golden State. Hence, he has no fear about a matchup with the Dubs, even though he knows it will be very difficult.

“We gotta play against Golden State or the Denver Nuggets. It's not a matchup that we're running from… They (Warriors) know what to expect. They lost a lot of their key guys off that bench and their team changed. They still know what it takes to get to that championship. They know it's a different level they gotta play at in the playoffs. The playoffs and the regular season, there's a separation.”

The regular season series belongs to the Warriors at two games to one. Yet, during the games themselves, the Thunder seemed to play harder than usual whenever they're facing Stephen Curry and crew. Whether the Thunder face the Nuggets or the Warriors, Paul George is not going down without a fight.
