The Golden State Warriors are looking to take a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals when they host the Boston Celtics on Monday. When discussing the play of Stephen Curry, who has carried the Warriors during the Finals, Steve Kerr compared him and his work ethic to that of tennis icon Roger Federer. Kerr shared an anecdote about a time Federer offered some motivation to the Warriors during a visit to Shanghai. The Warriors' head coach revealed Federer's interesting response to a question from Draymond Green about his routine, which Kerr feels is comparable to Curry.

Kerr shared that Green asked Federer how he maintained his high level of play for 20 years. According to Kerr, Federer told the team that he fell in love with his daily routine, saying “Every single day, I put my head on the pillow, at the end of the day, and I just think ‘Man, what a great day.'”

“So I think of Steph [Curry] a lot, when I think of that story from Roger Federer,” said Kerr. “Very similar sort of zest for life and joy for the process.”

Kerr discussed the disciplined and passionate nature of Curry's routine which has helped him remain at the top of his game. He sees comparisons between his star point guard and one of the all-time greats of tennis, and wasn't afraid to make those connections when discussing how committed the superstar athletes are to perfecting their craft.

With the Warriors looking to pick up their third win of the series and inch one step closer to another championship, Kerr is hoping Curry can continue to channel his inner-Roger Federer for a few more games and lead the team to a pair of crucial wins.
