Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been ruled out of their game against the Houston Rockets after suffering a tailbone contusion.

Curry suffered the injury at the end of the third quarter after shooting a three and tripping to the sidelines, falling to the metal stairs. The Warriors sharpshooter writhed in pain after the fall and was eventually deemed unable to play again for the final quarter.

Here's a video of the incident (h/t ESPN on Twitter):

The good news here is that the injury does not appear to be serious. Curry simply took a hard fall and it was his tailbone that absorbed all his weight. While there appears to be no structural damage for the Warriors star, he's not completely out of the woods just yet. Depending on how he feels in the morning, Curry could actually spend some time on the shelf because of this injury.

The Warriors, who entered Wednesday's tilt just one game behind the eighth-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the West, return to action on Thursday and Friday in a back-to-back set against the Memphis Grizzlies. It remains to be seen if Steph will be able to suit up for his team for those games. It goes without saying, though, that Golden State can't afford a lengthy spell on the sidelines for their superstar point guard right now.

It is worth noting that the Dubs could be extremely shorthanded for their next games with both James Wiseman and Eric Paschall being placed on the league's health and safety protocols.
