The Golden State Warriors are missing Draymond Green, but head coach Steve Kerr admits they have a player similar player to the outspoken forward who is slowly making a name for himself in the Dubs rotation.

Golden State get off to a strong start this 2020-21 season, though luck was able to slightly change on Sunday after they got a go-ahead 3-pointer from Damion Lee to lift them over the Chicago Bulls. However, it was not only Lee that stood out for Kerr, but also Juan Toscano-Anderson whom he called a little like Dray.

“Juan has been fantastic,” Kerr told Warriors reporters on Monday, via Drew Shiller of NBC Sports. “He's just one of those guys who understands the game at a really, really deep level. He's setting the screen at the right time, he's making the back cut at the right time, he's sliding over defensively to help at the exact right time.”

Toscano-Anderson has been exceptional so far this season on a shorthanded Warriors squad. Although his numbers don't quite tell the story, that's what has lead to Kerr comparing the 27-year-old forward to one of his more prominent players.

“He's a little bit like Draymond [Green] in that his brain is on high alert at all times at both ends of the floor,” Steve Kerr continued. “I'm a huge fan. He absolutely belongs in this league. As long as Draymond is out, he's going to play.”

The irony in Kerr's comparison is that Toscano-Anderson is making the most of his playing time in Greens' absence as he deals with a foot injury that's kept him out of action for the Warriors so far this season.
