The Golden State Warriors hold the 28th pick in the draft, and they have to put their time in and make sure they can find someone who can contribute right away. Warriors coach Steve Kerr thinks that will be the case and knows how important it is that they hit on the pick.

“I think it's a big deal and having talked to our scouts…they like the pick. I trust them, they have been amazing the last few years pick guys who contribute late in the first or even mid second. They think we are going to get an impact player, and I have a feeling I will play that guy, give him a chance next year given the state of our team.”

A guy that was drafted last year that made a huge contribution was Jordan Bell. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the second round and turned around and sold to the Warriors. He was a cheap contract that provided big minutes at times off the bench.

The Warriors have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green who all take up a large part of the salary cap.

With that much money going to four guys, it doesn't leave a ton of money left for role players off the bench. Young players who are taken late in the first round or the second round are cheap bench pieces. If the Warriors miss on the 28th pick, it's going to be one bench spot that they can't trust on the court, and that can't happen.
