One of the best stories of the 2006-07 NBA season was the Golden State Warriors, who completed an upset in the first round of the playoffs against the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks. With their Game 6 victory, the Warriors became the first ever team in league history to defeat a number one seed in a best-of-seven series in the first round.

With the current team hosting the Utah Jazz on Tuesday for the first game of their second round series, the Dubs announced that they will have a celebration inside Oracle Arena for the 10th anniversary of the “We Believe” team.

Under the tutelage of veteran head coach Don Nelson, the 2007 team won 16 of their last 21 games of the regular season to secure the last playoff berth in the Western Conference. Their improbable run continued in the postseason and it only took them six games to eliminate the Mavs team who won 67 games in the campaign.

Some of the “We Believe” players, like Indiana Pacers guard Monta EllisBaron Davis, Stephen Jackson, Jason Richardson, Al Harrington, Kelenna Azubuike, Adonal Foyle, Patrick O’Bryant and Zarko Cabarkapa, are all expected to be in attendance on Tuesday to celebrate with their fans, who packed their arena before to cheer them on.

Matt Barnes, who is part of the current Warriors team, also played in the “We Believe” squad and may return to action on the night as well after recovering from an ankle sprain.
