With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson having unusual off-nights for the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant stepped up big time and drained what turned out to be the biggest basket of Game 3 of the 2018 NBA Finals.
Durant torched the Cleveland Cavaliers all night, manufacturing 43 points on 15-for-23 shooting from the field to help Golden State score a 110-102 win. None of his 15 field goals was more crucial than the 3-point shot he buried with less than 50 seconds left in the game that gave the Warriors a six-point lead.
After getting a screen from Andre Iguodala, Durant did not hesitate to pull the trigger from way behind the 3-point line, plunging a dagger right into the chest of the Cavs and twisting it, as his bucket effectively took any remaining fight out of Cleveland.
Durant also finished the game with 13 rebounds and seven assists in 43 minutes of action.
