The Golden State Warriors won Game 1 of their second-round Western Conference playoff series against the Houston Rockets on Sunday afternoon, but not without controversy.

Following the Rockets' loss, James Harden criticized the officiating, saying that he just wants a “fair chance” from the referees.

Harden was referring to the several times during the contest where he was run into by Warriors defenders on 3-point attempts without a call, specifically in the closing moments of the fourth quarter where Harden appeared to be fouled by Golden State big man Draymond Green on a long-distance try without a whistle.

Warriors star Stephen Curry was then asked on Monday whether or not he gets a “fair chance” from the officials, and he decided to channel his inner Russell Westbrook in his response:

Stephen Curry ended up scoring 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting in the contest, going just 3-of-10 from 3-point range. However, the two-time MVP was playing on a bum ankle, and one of the triples he did bury proved to be enormous, as he put the Dubs up by five points with under a minute remaining.

On the other hand, Harden scored 35 points in the loss, going just 9-of-28 from the floor and 4-of-16 from beyond the arc. He also got to the free-throw line 14 times, so based on that and his history of tending to get the benefit of the whistle, some may find it hard to take Harden's complaints about the refereeing all that seriously. And, for the record, the NBA determined Harden wasn't fouled on that last shot.

We'll see what both teams (and the officials) have in store for Game 2 on Tuesday night.
