The New England Patriots took care of business against the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday but face a quick turnaround and face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.

On the daily Locked On Patriots podcast, Mike Debate was joined by Thomas Murphy to discuss how this turnaround will help or hurt the Patriots.

Debate: My last question to you is, after a big win like this, are you worried at all about the Patriots having a potential letdown with such a quick turnaround with the game being played on Thursday or can it work to this team’s advantage?

Murphy: Oh, it can work for this team’s advantage. It’s like going on a west coast trip for a baseball team and after a win like this, it helps to galvanize a team. It reminds the team that yes, they are professionals. That yes they are supposed to be here and I expect them to not have a letdown game especially since they are going up against an upper-echelon team with a great coach who never stops learning. I have an affinity for him. It is going to be a very difficult win but if the Patriots do what they were able to do on Sunday, I think they can come out on top of it. The thing is that the lines on both sides of the ball for the Rams are much better than the ones that they faced this week. It is going to be about setting a tone early. The Patriots set a tone early in this past game going for it on fourth down on that first drive and letting people know that we are here to play.
