Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks has some insider scoop about the All-Star voting system, and apparently, he has just announced that Bradley Beal is going to be a starter for the East. Or was he kidding? Brooks has us confused.

Even Chase Huges of NBCS Washington seems to have been taken aback by coach Brooks' comments:

I guess Brooks was just stating the obvious? It isn't likely that he got this information even before the official announcement of the All-Star game starters tomorrow, and even if he did, he probably wouldn't spill the beans. Right?

Be that as it may, one thing is clear: that Bradley Beal has been playing at an elite level for the Wizards all season long. As the tweet above reports, he has a significant lead in the ballots, and at this point, his starting gig for the much-anticipated (and much-contested) All-Star game is only but a formality.

Just take a look at the numbers he's been putting up this year: 33.1 points (career-high and league-best) on 47.6 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds (career-high), 4.4 assists, and 1.4 steals. Oh, and he's also draining 2.6 triples per game on a 34.1-percent clip.

What sucks about all this is the fact that the Wizards still suck. Sorry for breaking it to you Wiz fans, but this is simply a known fact. Despite Beal's heroics, Washington still owns an 8-17 record, as they sit at the second-to-the-last spot in the East.

If anything, it's a good thing team records are not a factor in being voted as an All-Star starter.
