Bradley Beal is excited about the upcoming season. The Washington Wizards star is particularly excited to play with one of his new teammates. veteran Jeff Green. Beal told Fred Katz of The Athletic:

“I always say, Jeff is a star, man, because he's built like LeBron and almost plays like him in so many ways. I think he can help us in multiple positions. He plays the three. He plays the four. We can put him at the five. He's comfortable there. So, his versatility is exactly what we need. It just makes our job and our life easy. He's able to shoot it, put it on the floor. He can guard multiple guys. So, it works.”

This effusive praise from Beal is a good sign for a Wizards locker room that hasn't always been lauded for its stability and cohesion. There's no need to bash Beal for talking up a teammate, but the LeBron comparison is obviously a stretch. But other than that and the “star” tag in general, Beal has a point.

Green can play multiple positions, he's a veteran, he can score the ball in a few different ways. He's a welcome addition to a team that needs a role player like him

Beal doubled down on the LeBron comparison despite the fact that anyone who watched the Cleveland Cavaliers play last season would not consider James and Green an apt comparison.

That being said, it's hard to criticize someone for building up their teammates and staying positive.
