Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall says Monday was a good day for the Wizards.

The Wizards named Tommy Sheppard as the full-time general manager and hired Sashi Brown and Daniel Medina as well. Brown will serve as chief planning and operations officer for the Wizards, while Medina will serve as chief of athlete care and performance.

Wall congratulated Sheppard for his promotion and welcomed Brown and Media to the team.

John Wall is recovering from heel and Achilles surgery. The All-Star guard, though, is still taking the time out of his day to acknowledge the moves Wizards owner Ted Leonsis is making. It's clear Wall is invested in Washington's future.

The supermax contract Wall signed kicks in next season. The 28-year-old signed a four-year, $170 million contract extension with Washington back in 2017. Leonsis said on Monday Wall will likely miss the entire 2019-20 season for the Wizards.

Wall played in 32 games this past season. He averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line. Washington, however, missed the playoffs after finishing with a 32-50 record.

Wall turns 29 in September. He has career averages of 19.0 points and 9.2 assists in 573 games with the Wizards.
