Former All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas had a one-of-a-kind reputation during his playing days. He was not, however, exactly known for being a great teammate (case in point: the infamous gun incident involving then-teammate Javaris Crittenton). However, Washington Wizards star John Wall, who himself was able to play with Arenas for a brief period, shared a pretty awesome story about Arenas' overly generous side. Wall was shocked when Arenas once gifted him with thousands of dollars worth of shoes as a young rookie.

“I remember my second or third time walking in the locker room, we wore the same size and there was those those Yeezys that Louis Vuitton had made,” Wall said, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. he just dropped a whole box of shoes off. Like, seven pairs of shoes and he's like ‘this is for you, young fella…' I was like ‘man, this is the coolest vet ever.'”

Anyone in Wall's position would have been pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed with Arenas' grand gesture.

Perhaps Arenas saw something special in Wall, and he wanted to make sure that they had a good relationship going early on.

These two did not end up being teammates for very long, though. Wall was drafted by the Wizards in 2011, and it was in the middle of that season that the team decided to trade away Arenas to the Orlando Magic. Their relationship as teammates may have been short-lived, but it is obvious that Arenas left quite an impression on Wall.
