Following the end of the Jimmy Butler saga in Minnesota, the Washington Wizards have now turned into the NBA's hottest mess for the past couple of weeks. The Wizards are in dysfunction, and there seems to be no other way to fix this but to blow the entire thing up.

A few days ago, the team announced that every single player on their roster is available for sale — even All-Stars Bradley Beal and John Wall.

However, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe, trading John Wall might not come as easy as they would think. He cited the most obvious reason is his atrocious $170 million contract that will be on the Wizards' payroll in the beginning of next season, and will go through 2023.

According to Tim Bontempts of ESPN, executives around the league believe this as well. An anonymous executive said this as well:

“If they can get anything for Wall and don't do it, they are idiots,” the executive said.

It's worth noting that in the final year of his 4-year $170 million extension — he'll be 33 — Wall is set to make around $47 million. This is definitely not an amount any team would like to pay for a point guard on the decline. Wall's game is predicated on his quickness and athleticism.

The 28-year old has had surgeries on both of his knees. With the Wizards committing that much money to a point guard who is projected be on the decline due to his knee issues, his max contract may be one of the worst in the league.

Finding a suitor to take on this contract will be difficult. That's why executives are echoing the Wizards should just run away with whatever value they can get in return for Wall at this point.
