The Washington Wizards have offered John Wall a deal they hope the spitfire guard will ultimately find irresistible.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that the Wizards have put a four-year, $170-million deal on the table for Wall.

Wall, however, is seemingly in no rush to ink the deal.

The Washington Wizards have offered John Wall a four-year contract extension for roughly $170 million, but Wall will take some time to consider the offer, sources told ESPN.

Wall has all the time in the world to consider everything. After all, he still has two seasons left on his current contract with the Wizards, which is worth a little bit over $37 million. If anything, it's the Wizards who want this to get over this deal as soon as possible so they could move on and fully concentrate on their other key free agent-related issues with Bojan Bogdanovic's and Otto Porter's contracts

The outstanding offer the Wizards have for Wall is considered a “supermax” type, thanks to Wall being part of the All-NBA team, as pointed out by Windhorst in the same article.

Based on the numbers he put up for the Wizards, there's little to argue against Wall deserving such a dizzying amount of money. In six seasons in a Washington uniform, Wall has averaged 18.8 points, 9.2 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. Last season was his finest, leading the Wizards with career-high figures in points (23.1) and dimes (10.7).
