Washington Wizards forward Davis Bertans is expected to draw a $15-17 million salary in free agency, according to several NBA executives.

Although Bertans will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, Washington—or a team that trades for him—will hold his Bird rights. That means he can be re-signed while exceeding the salary cap for any amount up to the maximum salary. He is expected to command a $15-17 million average annual salary, according to several NBA executives who spoke with Bleacher Report.

At this point, the Wizards do not seem interested in trading Bertans away ahead of this season's trade deadline (Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET), though there are said to be teams interested in his services.

The Spurs traded Bertans to the Wizards back in July as part of a three-team deal. So far, the Latvian-born forward is playing well for his new team. In fact, he's turned in career-high marks through the first half of this campaign and ranks fourth in three-pointers made per game (3.6).

In his 39 appearances with the Wizards (four starts), Bertans has racked up averages of 14.9 points on 43.1 percent shooting form the field (42.2 percent from beyond the arc), 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 29.3 minutes per outing.

One thing that's certain is this is Bertans' best chance to secure a lucrative long-term deal, and a huge discount is unlikely to be given considering he was just traded and knows it can happen again at any time.

The Hawks are a team to keep an eye on for Bertans this summer and have the most cap space to spend in the league. Young and Bertans' ability to stretch the floor would form a deadly pick-and-pop combo and provide a talent upgrade for the Hawks point guard.

Bertans and the Wizards will be back in action on Monday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Golden State Warriors. Tip-off inside Capital One Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. Washington will be looking to build on a two-game winning streak.
