World of Warcraft: Shadowlands‘s first major update: Chains of Domination finally arrives this June 29.
First revealed during Blizzconline 2021, the major 9.1 update for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands finally has a reveal date: June 29, 2021. It includes a new raid, the Sanctum of Domination, where players will have to battle against a corrupted Sylvanas Windrunner. If you’ve been paying attention, you’d know that she’s now working with the Jailer. She has corrupted Anduin, which adds to the long list of corrupted priests and paladins in the series.
Sanctum of Domination’s normal and heroic difficulties go online a week after on July 5. The first wing of the Raid Finder difficulty will come out on July 13.
You can also explore a new zone in Shadowlands: Chains of Domination – the City of Secrets, Korthia. There will also be a mega-dungeon: Tazavesh, the Veiled Market. Finally, players will be able to continue their covenant campaigns. Each covenant receives new story chapters, with 40 new renown ranks to earn.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the eighth expansion of World of Warcraft, following Battle for Azeroth. First released in November last year, Chains of Domination will be the first major update for the expansion. Shadowlands is the realm of the dead in Warcraft lore. Sylvanas Windrunner murdered High Overlord Saurfang and destroyed the Lich King’s Helm of Domination, causing a rupture in the worlds of the living and the dead. It’s later revealed that Sylvanas made a deal with The Jailer, which explains why she has been committing crimes in Azeroth, which were done at the behest of The Jailer.
